Does not matter if it is stamped 1874 on back as shown. Does not mater if it is stamped coin silver as shown. They all come from the same mold, nicks and all. You see some others that have “Wells Fargo Express Co”. Fantasy piece. The wording is all wrong. The Company was “Wells Fargo & Co Express”. Real Wells Fargo badges are in the Wells Fargo history museums or private collections. In my 35 years of researching and collecting Wells Fargo & Co Express items, I have never seen one come up for sale. Held them, but never able to buy one. They are so rare, it would cost thousands of dollars. That should be a clue to real or fantasy. Last picture shows a real one from James Bartz book, Company Property.
