This is a beautiful plant fossil. It is a nice pair of striking fossil fern fronds from Pennsylvania. The ferns are replaced with the mineral Pyrophyllite, which gives the fossil its stunning white color. The striking fern fronds have great detail preserved and contrast beautifully with the black matrix plate. There are two ferns preserved on the plate, of TWO DIFFERENT TYPES, along with a partial tree branch! This is a very displayable plate of natural fossil fern fronds from the Coal Regions of Pennsylvania
- quite impressive!
