Description
For bid is an original, VERY SCARCE paper plate souvenir of the 1939-1940 Golden Gate International Exposition GGIE World's Fair on Treasure Island between San Francisco and Oakland, Calif. This is a thick paper plate from the "Wine Garden" at Treasure Island and it was probably used for some kind of food or drink sample given out at the World's Fair in either 1939 or 1940'. Plate has advertising and images of grapes and a tray with a bottle of wine and two glasses. "California's Most Famous Wine Tipo Red and White (a Light Wine)." It also says, "Visit Our Famous Winery at Asti Sonoma County, California."This is a scarce or rare paper plate from GGIE on Treasure Island. Plate design was patent pending...
There are some light brown stains from the food on this plate. This is a very scarce souvenir item from the fair.
Plate is oval shaped and measures about 7 1/2 inches long.
